A night photo shot with hard 35mm flash: you lie back in the open trunk of a bright yellow sports car, legs crossed, one arm raised to the lid and a lit cigarette at your lips. A black cropped sleeveless hoodie, frayed black denim shorts and yellow-and-black Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneakers, film grain and a dark street behind. Your face and hair stay as in your photo.

How to make a car trunk photoshoot with AI
A car trunk photoshoot at night, without the car or the photographer: upload one waist-up or full-length photo to Car Trunk Photoshoot and you come back half-reclining in the open trunk of a bright yellow sports car, legs crossed, one arm up to the lid and a lit cigarette at your lips, shot from above with hard direct flash and film grain. A run costs 1 photo on the Free plan.
- Upload a waist-up or full-length photo in daylight with your face clear. The result is head to sneakers, so a photo that shows your build helps it keep your proportions.
- Press Create (1 photo). The car, the outfit, the sneakers, the pose, the cigarette and the flash are fixed.
- Check the feet and the hands at full size: both sneakers should be whole inside the frame, one hand on the lid and one cigarette at the lips.
What took two rounds to get right
The look comes from 35mm flash photos shot at night: the flash flattens the dark street behind and makes the yellow paint and the sneakers glow. In our first test round the bottom edge of the frame cut off a leg in four tries of six, because the model put one foot on the bumper and dropped the other to the ground. The template now spells out how the legs cross inside the trunk and moves the camera back, and both sneakers stayed in the frame in six tries of seven after that.
Two-tone hair needs a check. One of our sample women has a black bob with a red underlayer, and in two tries of three the model read the red as her main color and turned all of it red. Light hair can warm up in the flash as well: one run turned a man's icy silver into a warmer platinum, while the run below kept it silver.
What can you use it for?
- A night story in the style of film-flash photos, made from a daytime picture.
- A mood picture for planning a real car trunk shoot: the pose, the angle and the flash.
- A profile picture cut from the top half, face and raised arm.

From the AI-generated full-length test photo on the left: her face and build carried over, legs crossed with both Tigers in the frame, one hand on the lid. Her long hair is tucked behind her shoulders, so it reads shorter than it is. - AI-generated sample input
Result
On a man's photo the hoodie isn't cropped and the shorts reach the knee. His silver hair, the mole under his eye and his earring stayed; his legs came out bent but not crossed.
How do I get a better result?
- Show your whole body if you have such a photo. The template keeps your real build, and from a face-only photo it has to guess it.
- If your hair has two colors, check the result before you post: on our two-tone sample the brighter color took over the whole head twice.
- Wear your hair loose in the photo if you want it loose in the result. The template keeps its length, cut and parting as shown.
What goes wrong most often?
- Expecting a version without the cigarette. It is part of the trend shot and always in the picture.
- Expecting your own car. It is always a bright yellow sports car; the template names no make, and the plate is never readable.
- Using it in an ad. Tobacco imagery isn't allowed in ads on the big platforms, so keep it to your own feed.
