What stays from your selfie, and what doesn't?
We ran it three times on an AI-generated sample woman with a bleached buzz cut, silver ear cuffs and sharp winged liner. All three came out pure black and white, with no tint in the greys. The run shown below kept her cheekbones, nose, mouth, the mole on her cheek, the cuffs and the small hoops. Her winged liner didn't make it: the template says nothing about makeup, so it may or may not survive. One of the other runs dropped the cuffs and made her face look masculine.
The template doesn't take jewelry off, so earrings in your selfie usually stay. The light came out softer and more frontal than in the side-lit trend photos, because the frame is set up straight on. For the softer editorial version with a blazer, slicked-back hair and a circle of light, there is the AI black and white portrait.

How do I get a better result?
- Style your hair before the selfie, not after: it keeps its length, texture and part, so a ponytail stays a ponytail.
- Take off earrings you don't want in the picture before the selfie. The template doesn't remove them.
- Keep a neutral face in the selfie. The result asks for no smile, and a broad grin in the photo gives it more to undo.
What goes wrong most often?
- Expecting the suit in color. Everything, the tie and the white shirt included, is rendered in black, white and grey.
- Hoping for a full-length fashion shot. The frame stops at mid-chest, just under the tie knot.
