Hard flash, a washed-black denim jacket and a wall of torn flyers.

Example result. Yours is made from your own photo.
A gritty hard-flash portrait of you in a worn, washed-black denim jacket in front of a wall of old torn flyers. The flash lights your face and pushes everything else into black, while wet strands of your hair, or a chain-link fence beside the camera if your hair is short, throw sharp streak-shadows across your face. High contrast and light grain; your face, skin tone and hair color stay as in your selfie.

How to make a grunge flash photoshoot with AI
A grunge photoshoot in one run: upload a selfie to Grunge Poster Wall and you come back under a harsh flash in a worn, washed-black denim jacket, looking back over your shoulder in front of a wall of old torn flyers that fades into black. Sharp shadow lines cross your face, thrown by wet strands of your hair or, on a short cut, by a chain-link fence beside the camera. A run costs 1 photo on the Free plan.
- Upload a selfie in daylight with your face and hairline clear. The flash, the jacket and the wall come from the template; the face, skin tone and hair come from you.
- Press Create (1 photo). There is nothing to pick: the light, the pose over the shoulder and the background are fixed.
- Look for the shadow lines across your face. They are the signature of the shot; if a run comes back with only faint ones, run it again.
Where the shadow lines come from
In the trend photo the lines are shadows of loose strands of hair, thrown by a hard flash. In our first round they barely showed: one or two thin stripes by the eye in every try. The template now hangs a few wet strands just in front of the face and fires the flash from high up and to one side, so their shadows land apart from them as a web of sharp diagonal lines. Even so, the strong web came out in one try of four, so give it more than one run.
A buzz cut has no strands to cast anything, and on our sample man the old wording drew lines out of nowhere and once grew hair onto his head. Short hair now keeps its cut, and the flash fires past the edge of a chain-link fence instead, laying its diamond-shaped shadow over one side of the face.
What can you use it for?
- A profile picture with a gig-poster mood for a band, a DJ set or a music account.
- A moody story next to your daytime posts.
- A reference for a real flash shoot: the angle of the light and the strands in front of the face.

From the AI-generated test selfie on the left: her freckles, brows, dark eyes and gold hoops carried over, and the wet strands cast a web of shadows across her forehead and eye. A torn flyer still shows broken letters and a time. - AI-generated sample input
Result
A short cut: the buzz cut, pencil mustache, chin scar and earring stayed, and the shadow comes from the chain-link fence at the right edge. No words can be read on the flyers behind him.
How do I get a better result?
- If your hair is long, wear it any way in the selfie: the template clips it up and leaves a few strands loose. Expect them to look wet.
- Check your skin tone in the result. The flash should make the skin bright and crisp without bleaching or darkening it, and the template asks for exactly that.
- Use a selfie without sunglasses or a cap. The flash lights the face hard, and the eyes have to come from your photo.
What goes wrong most often?
- Expecting readable posters. The flyers are old and torn, with no readable words by design; at most a few broken letters survive.
- Expecting a black-and-white photo. The flash keeps color: your skin, the faded colors of the flyers, the washed-out black of the jacket.

Works well
- Your face close to the camera, looking straight in
- Daylight from a window in front of you
- Only you in the frame
Avoid
- Sunglasses, masks or hair over your eyes
- Beauty filters and heavy edits
- Dark rooms and photos taken from far away
