Three stacked frames: frosted lashes, a snowy rooftop, pink neon.

Three stacked frames of a young woman with long dark hair and green eyes on a snowy night: her eyes up close with frost on the lashes and city lights behind, her lying on a snow-dusted rooftop lounge chair in a white faux-fur jacket and a sequined dress, and her face under pink neon with one hand raised above her eyes

How to make a 3 layer winter photo with AI

The 3 layer AI photo trend for winter takes one selfie in 3-Layer Winter Photo: three stacked frames of one snowy night on a city rooftop. On top, your eyes up close with frost on the lashes; in the middle, you on a snow-dusted lounge chair in a white faux-fur jacket over a sequined dress; at the bottom, your face and one raised hand against pink neon. A run costs 1 photo on the Free plan.

  1. Upload a sharp selfie in daylight with your eyes wide open. The top frame is a close-up of your eyes alone, so blur or heavy filters show there first.
  2. Press Create (1 photo). The rooftop, the outfit, the neon and the order of the frames are fixed.
  3. Look at the edges of the result. If a thin black border runs around it, crop it off: the frames themselves reach the sides.

What we fixed between the first and second test round

The trend circulates as a Gemini prompt in three parts: the eyes, the body in its setting, the face and a hand. In our first round the pink neon behind the bottom frame kept folding into letters, mirrored ones included, in all five tries; the bottom frame showed two hands instead of one; and city lights were laid over the lower half of the face in the top frame. The template now describes the neon as a few plain glowing tubes, two straight and one wave, keeps one hand in frame and puts the city lights behind you and in your eyes.

On the final wording the neon stayed free of letters and the hand stayed single in both runs. A thin black border around the whole picture still appeared in about half of the runs, so check the edges. The neon came out closer to magenta than to soft pink.

What can you use it for?

  • A winter post that tells a small story in one image, top to bottom.
  • A three-slide carousel: cut along the black dividers.
  • A December profile picture cropped from the top frame, eyes and frost.

What does an example run look like?

  • AI-generated sample input: front-facing selfie of a woman with long wavy dark brown hair and green eyes in a mint camisole against a white wall

    Result
From the AI-generated test selfie on the left: her green eyes, freckles and long dark hair carried over all three frames, with one hand and five fingers at the bottom. The middle frame stops at the waist and shows the next lounge chair rather than the railing and the city.

How do I get a better result?

  • Take the selfie facing the light. Frost on the lashes and city lights in the eyes need open, well-lit eyes to land on.
  • Expect some jewelry in the bottom frame: the template asks for snowflakes clinging to it, and on our run a sparkling bracelet appeared at the wrist.
  • Leave your hair down if you want strands across your forehead in the top frame. Its color, length and texture stay as in the photo.

What goes wrong most often?

  • Expecting a man's version. The outfit and the beauty close-ups are written for a woman, so this one is For her only.
  • Cropping the picture to a square. The three frames are equal thirds of a 3:4 image; a square crop cuts the top and the bottom frame short.

What you need

  • Your selfie

Close-up, daylight, one face. No filters or sunglasses.

Works well

  • Your face close to the camera, looking straight in
  • Daylight from a window in front of you
  • Only you in the frame

Avoid

  • Sunglasses, masks or hair over your eyes
  • Beauty filters and heavy edits
  • Dark rooms and photos taken from far away
