Example result. Yours is made from your own photo.

Your own movie poster from one selfie: a theatrical one-sheet with you in the lead, shot and designed the way the genre you pick sells its films, from a gritty action thriller or a space epic to a cozy holiday rom-com or an 80s slasher. Your title goes on it in genre-perfect type, with a tagline and a made-up billing block; add a second photo and you share top billing with your partner or a friend.

How to make an AI movie poster with your face

To make an AI movie poster starring you, upload one selfie to Movie Poster Starring You, type a title of up to 24 characters and pick one of six genres: 1 photo per poster on the Free plan, and new accounts get 3 free photos. You come back as the lead of a vertical one-sheet, with your title in the genre's typeface, a tagline the template writes, invented credits and COMING SOON. A second photo turns it into a two-lead poster.

  1. Upload a close-up of your face to Your selfie. For two leads, put the other person's face photo in Co-star's photo; you then confirm they agreed before the run.
  2. Type the Movie title and, for star billing, Your name on the poster. Choose the Genre; Action thriller is preselected.
  3. Press Create (1 photo). Read the title letter by letter in My creations before you post the poster.

Why does every poster have the same credits?

The small print is fixed text, identical on every poster: DIRECTED BY MARLO QUINCE, WRITTEN BY TESS ARDEN, PRODUCED BY JULES PERRAULT, MUSIC BY IVO LANGSTRAND, then COMING SOON. The names are invented. When early test runs made up credits per poster, the fine print came out as gibberish, so the block was frozen.

The tagline is the one line the template writes, in the tone of the genre. It is asked for two to five words; the sci-fi poster below, made before the limit was set to five, got seven. The 80s slasher is scary by mood only: a faceless dark figure in a cabin doorway, no weapons or blood.

What can you use it for?

  • An anniversary post in rom-com or holiday rom-com, with both of you on top billing.
  • A movie-night invite with the evening's theme as the film title.
  • A teaser post before a trip or a move, with the city in the title.

Space sci-fi, title Orbit of Silence, no name; made from the synthetic test photo on the left. The tagline ran long.

How do I get a poster that looks like me?

  • Keep the title plain. It is the biggest text on the poster, spelled as typed, with no subtitle added. The field doesn't accept a colon, so type Neon Harbor Part Two.
  • Use a selfie with nothing over your eyes. Your face sits large in the upper half with both eyes showing, and your glasses and stubble stay as in the photo, so sunglasses or a cap brim leave it guessing.
  • Ignore what you wear in the selfie. Each genre brings its wardrobe: a black leather jacket in the action thriller, a worn off-white spacesuit in sci-fi, a red cable-knit sweater in the holiday rom-com.
  • Choose the genre by expression too. Action is a hard stare into the lens, the slasher a frightened glance over one shoulder, indie drama a quiet look toward a rainy window; for a smile, take a rom-com.

What goes wrong most often?

  • Uploading a couple selfie into Your selfie. The template counts photos to decide how many leads to show, so the second person goes in Co-star's photo.
  • Typing an accented name. The fields take Latin letters, numbers and basic punctuation only and show an error on anything else, so type Jose, not José.
  • Expecting a parody of a famous film. The posters are original, with no franchise costumes or real actors. Pet Movie Poster gives your dog the lead instead.
