How to make an AI caricature of you and your job
To get an AI caricature from a photo, upload one selfie to Caricature of You and Your Job and type what you do for work, plus a few hobbies if you like: 1 photo per picture on the Free plan, with 3 free photos on a new account. You come back as a big head on a small body, dressed for the job and ringed by its tools, with one prop per hobby, hand-painted in watercolor or rendered in glossy 3D.
- Add a front-facing selfie of just you to Your selfie, wearing the glasses or beard you want in the drawing.
- Type Your job the way you'd say it out loud, then up to three hobbies separated by commas. Fill in Name on the ribbon only if you want lettering in the picture.
- Choose a Style, Watercolor or Glossy 3D, and start the run for 1 photo; the picture is saved to My creations.
What does the job you type change in the picture?
The job decides the clothes and the props. You wear what people in that job wear at work, a plain outfit with no logos, name tags or badges, and hold its main tool. Six to nine oversized tools of the job circle around you, with the workplace sketched behind. Each hobby adds one smaller prop.
The job title is never written anywhere. Props carry no labels, screens show only shapes, and laptops, phones and controllers come out without a brand. First-aid kits get a plain look or a small white heart instead of a cross. The only words are the optional name, up to 16 characters, in capitals on a cream ribbon below your feet.
What can you use it for?
- A post announcing a new job or a promotion, with the new role typed in.
- A picture for a career-day slide about what you do at work.
- The same job drawn twice, in watercolor and in glossy 3D, to see which look you like.
What does an example run look like?
- AI-generated sample input
Result
Watercolor, job real estate agent, hobbies tennis and hiking, no name; made from the synthetic test photo on the left. - AI-generated sample input
Result
Glossy 3D, job firefighter, hobbies fishing and grilling, name Jake; made from the synthetic test photo on the left. The boots appear twice; the one-of-each rule came after this run, and repeats can still slip in.
How do I get a better result?
- Be specific in the job field. In our runs, real estate agent brought a blank for-sale sign, keys and a small house; firefighter brought a helmet, an axe, an extinguisher and a hydrant. A job like consultant gives the template little to draw.
- List hobbies that have an object. Hiking came out as trekking poles, chess as a king piece and cooking as a frying pan.
- Smile in the selfie the way you want to be drawn. Your smile gets a little broader, but closed lips stay closed, so for a toothy grin upload a photo with one.
- Start with watercolor if likeness matters most. In our runs it held faces more closely; glossy 3D reads more like a bobblehead.
What goes wrong most often?
- Typing a job known for swimwear or a stage costume and expecting that outfit. Every result is fully dressed and fit for a family photo: in our lifeguard test, she got a red hoodie and shorts, not a swimsuit.
- Typing your employer's name instead of your role. Brand marks are kept off every object, so the company won't appear.
- Uploading a photo with a friend. The picture always shows exactly one person.
- Expecting a boxed toy from Glossy 3D. That style is a workplace diorama; Action Figure of Yourself comes in blister packaging.
