Remini Alternatives (2026): Photo Enhancers and AI Photo Apps Compared

Remini alternatives in 2026 include Let's Enhance for big upscales in a browser, MyHeritage Photo Enhancer and its Reimagine app for family photos, Pixelup and YouCam Enhance as phone enhancer apps, Fotor and Picsart for an enhancer inside an editor, and Outwow (outwow.app), our browser studio for restoring and colorizing old photos.

By Outwow Studio

Three Outwow results: a colorized print of a couple, an older woman by a window and a 1940s street portrait in color
Cover: results made with Outwow templates and tools, not with the apps compared.

In short

  • Remini posts no price list; its US App Store weekly plans ran 4.99 to 9.99 USD, and both store listings say it contains ads.
  • MyHeritage's Photo Enhancer uses technology licensed from Remini's creators: several photos free with a logo watermark, unlimited on its Complete plan.
  • Free in a browser: Fotor's online enhancer, Let's Enhance's 10 sign-up credits (watermarked) and Picsart's lower-resolution saves.
  • Outwow (outwow.app), ours, restores and colorizes old photos in a browser with tools from the Weekly Pass ($6.99 a week) or, on free photos, its Old Photo Restoration template; no phone app.

How we compared

We used company websites, pricing pages, help centers, privacy notices and US App Store or Google Play listings, all in Sources below. Prices are copied with the currency and billing period shown; US App Store prices vary by region. Where a company doesn't state something, we write "not listed". For avatar apps like Remini's AI Photos, see our Lensa alternatives.

Remini: one-tap fixes and AI Photos on your phone

Remini, from Bending Spoons, sharpens old, blurry or low-resolution photos in one tap; its Google Play listing adds AI Photos of yourself from 8 to 12 of your pictures. The US App Store lists it as free with in-app purchases: Remini Lite Weekly at 4.99, 5.99 or 7.99 USD, Remini Pro Weekly at 9.99 USD and 1 Month at 9.99 USD, with no yearly price shown; plans renew automatically. Its help center says there is no fixed price list, free access is limited without numbers, and a free trial isn't always offered. Remini Web is a separate product that only higher in-app plans include; its prices are in USD on a paywall reached after logging in or signing up, and its Personal plan table shows 20 images on the weekly plan, 80 on the monthly and 1,040 on the yearly, with JPG output.

Is Remini safe to use?

Bending Spoons' privacy notice for Remini says photos and videos uploaded for enhancement, and the results, are deleted after one day, and face data right after enhancing. AI Photos keeps uploads and face data up to 20 days for subscribers or 7 days for others from your last use, and generated images up to 7 days. Images don't train its AI unless you opt in, aren't sold and aren't used to identify people. Its App Store privacy label lists identifiers as data that may be used to track you across other companies' apps, as do Pixelup's, YouCam Enhance's, Reimagine's and Picsart's labels for some data; the MyHeritage app's lists none. On Google Play, Remini says it may share user IDs and crash logs with other companies for analytics, encrypts data in transit and lets you request deletion. We can't check how any company follows its policy; our privacy checklist lists what to look for.

Let's Enhance: large prints from small files, in a browser

Let's Enhance is a web tool with Enhancer, Upscaler and Restorer modes; the site lists no phone app. It upscales up to 16x for 300 DPI prints, up to 512 MP on the Max plan (Starter 256 MP, Pro 350 MP), though its pricing FAQ says 256 MP on personal plans; an Old Photo mode repairs damage first, and it edits 20 images at once. New accounts get 10 free credits with no card; free results go up to 8 MP with a watermark, which any purchase removes. Plans bill in USD: Starter, 100 credits a month, is 9 USD a month billed annually or 12 USD monthly; Pro, 300 credits, 24 or 32 USD; Max, 500 credits, 34 or 45 USD. A basic image costs one credit, but big outputs cost more, up to 10 credits at 512 MP in Ultra mode. Unused credits roll over while you stay subscribed; pay-as-you-go bundles never expire.

MyHeritage: Remini's technology for family photos

MyHeritage Photo Enhancer says its technology was licensed from the creators of the Remini mobile app. It upscales faces, aimed at historical photos where faces are small and blurry, and needs a free account. Several photos are free with a logo watermark; unlimited enhancing needs the Complete plan, whose help article gives no price, while the US App Store lists items named Complete at 199.99 and 249.99 USD with no period shown. MyHeritage warns that results may be inaccurate and, rarely, distorted. Photos are processed on its servers and not shared externally. Reimagine, a separate app that scans albums and enhances, repairs, colorizes and animates photos, costs 49.99 USD a year after a 7-day free trial or 7.99 USD a month, with limited free use, on iPhone and iPad (the US App Store also lists 37.00 USD a year) and Android.

Pixelup: a Remini-style app from Codeway

Pixelup works much like Remini: it turns old or blurry photos into high definition, with scratch removal, one-tap colorizing and animation, and its Google Play listing adds AI avatars. The US App Store marks it "Only for iPhone"; there is an Android version and no web version listed. It's free to download, with Pixelup Pro items from 2.99 to 29.99 USD (no period shown) and Premium Lifetime at 39.99 USD; Google Play names weekly, monthly, 3-month and annual subscriptions (the App Store only weekly and annual), and both listings say the app contains ads. Google Play's data safety section says data isn't encrypted, isn't shared with third parties and can be deleted on request. The privacy policy covers photos and facial feature data, says sensitive data is encrypted, lists Facebook SDK, Adjust and Firebase Analytics as possible recipients and gives no deletion window.

YouCam Enhance: photos and video on iPhone and Android

YouCam Enhance unblurs, sharpens and upscales photos and videos to high definition and 4K, and repairs scratches and colorizes old photos. The US App Store lists it for iPhone and Apple Vision and says it contains advertising; there is an Android version, and free features aren't listed. US prices include Standard Plan at 39.99 USD yearly, Premium Version at 4.99 USD weekly or 9.99 USD monthly and Pro Plan at 14.99 USD monthly or 79.99 USD yearly. Google Play's data safety section says data is encrypted in transit and isn't shared with third parties, but can't be deleted.

Fotor: a free online enhancer with desktop apps

Fotor's AI photo enhancer fixes blurry, noisy or low-resolution photos, upscales 2x or 4x, restores faded photos and takes batches of up to 50 images. Its FAQ calls the enhancer free online, with Fotor Pro for advanced features. The page says downloads carry no watermark, while the pricing table lists watermark-free export as a plan feature, so check your first download. Basic is free forever with limited credits; Pro costs 8.99 USD billed monthly or 39.99 USD billed yearly for 100 credits a month. Fotor runs in the browser, on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android; the Android app contains ads. The enhancer page says images are processed securely but gives no deletion window.

Picsart: an enhancer inside a full editor

Picsart's photo enhancer sharpens photos in one click inside a photo and video editor that also has photo restoration, unblur and batch tools. The page says lower-resolution saves are free, and its FAQ calls the enhancer a premium tool. Web Pro costs 15 USD a month billed monthly or 10.5 USD a month billed yearly and includes the one-tap enhancer and bulk edits of up to 50 images; most plans include a free trial, depending on account history. In the US App Store, Pro Monthly is 13.99 USD and Gold Weekly 4.99 USD. It runs on the web, iPhone, iPad, Macs with M1 or later and Android, where the app contains ads.

Outwow: restore, colorize and upscale in the browser

Outwow, our product, is a web studio of 196 templates and 8 tools. Restore & Colorize repairs scratches, creases, stains and fading on a scanned print and can add color. Colorize B&W colors a clean black-and-white photo; its FAQ calls the colors plausible for the era, not a record of the real ones. Each costs 1 photo a run on the Weekly Pass ($6.99 a week, 30 photos a week). Upscale to 4K enlarges a photo to about 4,000 pixels on the long side, and Headshot Studio turns one selfie into 8 headshots for 8 photos; both need Basic ($19.99 a month, 120 photos a month). New accounts get 3 free photos once, watermarked; they work on the Old Photo Restoration template (1 photo a run), not on tools. Uploads are deleted within 24 hours and never used to train AI models, though AI providers may keep inputs briefly to detect abuse; results stay 7 days on the Weekly Pass and 90 days on Basic. Outwow tells Meta, TikTok and OpenAI when you sign up, start a trial or pay; you can turn that off in Cookie settings (in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it happens only if you accept ad cookies). Where others do better: no phone app or video enhancer, one photo a run where Let's Enhance, Fotor and Picsart take batches, free photos only once, and far smaller files than Let's Enhance's 512 MP Max plan.
